One day awareness camp on pig health and distribution of input (piglet) was organized by group XII of “Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav” on 25th Feb. 2016 at Umdem mission with the members from all the five adopted villages (Umden Mission, Umden Arka, Madan Mawkhar, Umrynjah and Umphrew) participated. A lecture on “piggery as viable source of income for livelihood improvement” was delivered by Dr K. Puro followed by interactive session where individual queries regarding housing, feeding and health management practices were discussed. Besides 10 farmers were selected for piggery. Two farmers from each village were given 2 piglets along with complete package of information in the form of folder in local language for rearing. Also feed, mineral mixture, deworming medicine was given for each piglet.
